Registration is open for the third annual พรพรสำฦต Chargers Golf Tournament, presented by The Wilsonโs Group, taking place at 4pm Friday, Sept. 27, 2024 at Highland Pacific Golf Course.
The cost to play in the nine-hole shotgun is $150 per person, or $550 for a four-some, and includes: green fee, power cart, tee gift, range balls, and BBQ buffet dinner with an online silent auction. Social tickets are also available to attend the post-round social and BBQ.
Registration is open until Sept. 13, 2024, or when the field is full (72 golfers).
The tournament is the primary fundraiser for the athletics program, and net proceeds raised at the tournament will go directly to พรพรสำฦต Chargers athletics department to help with travel costs, scholarships, and overall athlete experience. Over the past two years, the tournament has raised over $45,000 for the program.
This past season, the พรพรสำฦต Chargers teams traveled a combined over 5,400 kilometres during the regular season, including 22 ferry rides. This did not include travel to the PACWEST provincial championships or the menโs basketball journey to nationals in New Brunswick.
The tournament is the kick-off to Chargers Alumni Weekend where former athletes will get together for scrimmages against the current teams. Alumni games are on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024 at the Pacific Institute for Sport Education (PISE).
The พรพรสำฦต Chargers joined the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and the PACWEST leagues in 1994 in the sports of basketball, golf (since removed), and volleyball. Since then, the Chargers have competed in over 100 national and provincial championships with over 50 medal finishes, including the most recent 2022 PACWEST and CCAA gold in menโs volleyball.
