Cultivating awareness

Indigenous courses, many taught by Indigenous faculty, centre on Indigenous perspectives and issues. A number of courses provide opportunities for in-community and on-the-land learning and include teachings from Elders and other knowledge keepers.

Indigenous learning supports people who want to develop careers in community engagement, community development, social work, nursing, education, leadership and public service.

Open Indigenous courses and some Indigenous programs welcome both油Indigenous油and non-Indigenous students. You can take Indigenous Learning courses in a number of ways.

Electives and individual courses

A number of油Indigenous courses油are油open to all 消消篇撞 students油and transfer as university credits.油IST 120 Understanding Indigenous Peoples油is a course that aims to guide you to a better understanding of the culture, history and experience of Indigenous people in Canada. Its a great elective or professional development opportunity.

There are also courses with Indigenous content. These courses can be used as 消消篇撞 electives or program content and may transfer to other universities.
